Our Story

Several years ago God gave a us small vision to help churches and leaders reach and disciple young adults in central Minnesota.  Through much prayer and counsel, we launched an organization called Verge Ministries in Brainerd, MN on June 1st, 2010.

What we thought would be a ministry working with local churches in our area soon grew to working with churches all over the United States as people reached out to us and expressed their struggle to engage young adults with the Gospel.  Our original vision had been far too small for God’s grand dream.

On January 1st of 2018, Verge took on the new name elementum in order to communicate our commitment to a God-sized vision. We are asking God to use elementum and all who are a part of it to create a movement to restore and launch young adults into their Kingdom purpose all over the world.

Our team believes the best days are yet to come as we see more churches, leaders, and parents join this movement. We are one small part in what God is doing, but we are asking God to allow us to have fingerprints in cities, churches, and leaders all around the globe.  We can’t wait to see what is ahead!

What We Believe

The faith we’re committed to.

  • Bible

    We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.

  • Trinity

    We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. 

  • Jesus

    We believe in the deity and humanity of Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, in His present role as Head of the Church, and His personal return in power and glory.

  • Regeneration

    We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful men regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential

  • Holy Spirit

    We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.

  • Resurrection

    We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

  • Unity

    We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, with equality across racial, gender, and class differences.

Core Values

The values that define how we operate as a ministry.

Authentic Relationships

We value transformative relationships over accomplishments.

We believe that all transformative relationships start with our relationship with the triune God and His love for us; therefore humanity was created to engage in authentic relationship with their creator God and with those around them. Elementum values relationships where people truly know God and each other and grow together. We will seek to facilitate spaces and opportunities where people can connect authentically with God and one another.

Godly Humility

We serve and support the work that God is doing to build His Kingdom among young adults and college students within elementum and beyond.

Elementum is only a small part of God’s great work, so we want to follow Jesus’ example of operating as servants by empowering the ministry that others are doing rather than putting ourselves at the forefront.

Stewardship

We strive to be faithful with the resources that God has generously given to us.

We are called to use the money, time, energy, and other resources God has given us with wisdom and faithfulness as investments in God’s Kingdom work. Elementum seeks to steward all its resources well.

Disciple-Making

We will keep disciple-making at the core of everything we do.

Disciple-making is our everyday commission. Because of God’s love for humanity, Jesus commanded His followers to “go and make disciples,” restoring human’s relationship with God. Therefore everything elementum does will be structured to cultivate disciple-making movements that help people develop passionate relationships with Jesus Christ.

The Local Church

We participate in, partner with, and build up local churches.

Jesus established the church in its local expressions as the vehicle for proclaiming the Gospel and discipling His followers. Elementum focuses on equipping local churches to engage young adults.

Celebration

We celebrate of God’s gracious activity within our partner ministries, Elementum, and beyond.

God is joyfully working all across the globe and Elementum is only a part of the story. Because of this we will regularly and intentionally celebrate His work both within the scope of our ministry as well as through other Kingdom movements and organizations.
